Souph
be music.
be art.
At every arte Hotel, we create a space for creative encounters and new perspectives. Through our event series artist’s place, we provide a stage for young, emerging and established artists where music, art and performance can flourish freely. Whether it’s electronic sounds, visual art or interdisciplinary formats, our artist’s place deliberately moves between art forms and thrives on openness, a spirit of experimentation and exchange. In a relaxed atmosphere, the hotel becomes a meeting place for artists, guests and locals – a place where creativity comes to life.
About Souph
Music that isn’t just meant to be heard, but felt: At our ‘artists’ place’, we are delighted to welcome Souph to the hu:goes14 Rooftop Bar at the arte Hotel Salzburg. Singer-songwriter Sophie Zanon from East Tyrol brings her very own blend of soul, jazz and singer-songwriter sounds to the rooftops of Salzburg.
Musically, Souph is difficult to pigeonhole. Her songs range from atmospheric warmth and lightness to a carefree zest for life, whilst also leaving room for melancholy, doubt and life’s quiet moments. At the heart of it all is always her unmistakable voice: at times clear and deep, at times rough and smoky, and at other times surprisingly soft and fragile. It is precisely these contrasts that give her music its very own character.
Her lyrics, too, are deeply personal. Souph writes about feelings that aren’t always easy to put into words – about grief and gratitude, fear, pain, change and the little moments that make life special. Rather than hiding these emotions behind grand gestures, she makes them the centrepiece of her songs. It is precisely this that creates a special connection between the artist and her audience.
In 2023, Souph won the winto.klong singer-songwriter competition in Toblach. A year later, she released ‘Something Worth Remembering’, her most extensive album to date: 14 songs, written over a year and a half, on which her characteristic timbre and guitar playing meet orchestral arrangements for the first time.
At artists’ place, however, we’ll experience Souph up close and personal. Her voice, guitar and songs that tell stories and invite you to listen more closely for a moment. A concert evening blending soul and jazz, lightness and melancholy – personal, honest and free from musical labels.
Look forward to seeing Souph live at artists’ place in our hu:goes14 Rooftop Bar – with great music, a drink in hand and a view over Salzburg.
