FREsCHDACHS
be a part of music.
be art.
At every arte Hotel, we create space for creative encounters and new perspectives. With our artist’s place event series, we give young, up-and-coming and established artists a stage on which music, art and performance can develop freely. Whether electronic sounds, visual art or interdisciplinary formats, our artist’s place consciously moves between art forms and thrives on openness, experimentation and exchange. In a relaxed atmosphere, the hotel becomes a meeting place for artists, guests and locals, a place where creativity can be experienced.
About FREsCHDACHS
On 21 May 2026, the artists place was transformed into a place full of musical encounters, creative soundscapes and special moments. The trio Fre(s)chdachs delighted the audience with a concert evening characterised by musical sophistication, joy of playing and a palpable closeness to the listeners.
Behind Fre(s)chdachs are Vali, Julia and Janthé, who met while studying at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg. What once began as an artistic collaboration has now grown into a distinctive ensemble. Their band name – a tongue-in-cheek play on words between cheekiness and freshness – was also reflected in their music that evening: lively, surprising and full of charm.
The different musical backgrounds of the three artists merged to create a multi-faceted sound. While two members have their roots in Austria, Janthé brings in influences from South Africa. This cultural diversity was just as audible in the arrangements as their shared classical training and joy in creative experimentation. The trio combined different styles with a keen instinct and created a musical space that sounded both familiar and new.
Between soulful original compositions, original interpretations and humorous moments on stage, an atmosphere was created that captivated the audience from the first to the last minute. The intimate surroundings of the artists place provided the ideal setting for this and made the evening a special experience.
Fre(s)chdachs has established a firm place for itself in the Salzburg cultural scene in recent years. Their musical travels have also taken them to South Africa, where they were able to gain valuable artistic experience through joint projects with local choirs and private concert formats. This openness to new encounters and perspectives was also clearly noticeable during their performance at artists place.</p
We would like to thank Fre(s)chdachs for this inspiring concert evening and all the guests who contributed to the special atmosphere with their attention and enthusiasm. An evening full of music, encounters and impressions that will resonate for a long time to come.
