Behind the artist name Nirtak Eleböz is the artist Katrin Zöbele, whose works are shaped by emotions, memories and personal experiences. When she lost her mother completely unexpectedly in 2023, her life changed from one moment to the next. Instead of remaining stuck in grief, she found in art a way to express feelings for which words are often insufficient.

What began as a way of coming to terms with a painful loss developed into a creative language full of depth, strength and hope. Katrin first became known for her passion project, regarts, for which she printed her designs on postcards. But soon the small formats became too small for all the stories, emotions and thoughts that arose within her. The canvas became her space for expression and artistic freedom.

Her characteristic animal portraits combine precise details with expressive colours and striking gold accents. Whether a snow leopard, elephant, giraffe or chimpanzee – each animal symbolises strength, vulnerability, freedom and connection. The works invite you to pause, look more closely and forge your own connection with the subjects.
