Duo Tropicanto
be a part of culture.
be art.
In our hu:goes 14 Rooftopbar, we give young, talented and up-and-coming artists a stage. The “Culture Corner” is not just about music – it is an experience that highlights the diversity of Salzburg’s art scene. We firmly believe that art in all its facets is an essential part of our community and, above all, of the city of Salzburg. We are therefore delighted to offer creative and committed minds the opportunity to present themselves in our centre and thus reach a broad audience.
We cordially invite you to become part of this chapter in Salzburg’s art scene. Come and discover the fascinating world of local art at the arte Hotel Salzburg.
Culture Corner – Local art for a global audience.
about the duo tropicanto
The Duo Tropicanto was founded in Salzburg in 2024 and consists of two talented musicians who offer a versatile and varied line-up with clarinet and cello. The members of the duo come from different parts of the world, namely Venezuela and Colombia, and thus bring a special blend of cultural diversity to their musical performance. Both are currently students at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, an institution recognised worldwide for its excellence in classical music education.
However, the duo’s repertoire does not only include classical music. It is characterised above all by the fact that they cover a wide range of musical styles and genres with dedication and musicality. From the great masters of classical music to modern genres such as pop and rock – David and Sabrina know how to inspire their audience with a varied programme and a lightness of touch that is second to none. Their performances are characterised by technical virtuosity and a unique interpretation of a wide variety of musical styles. This diversity makes them one of the most extraordinary formations Salzburg has to offer in this field. They appeal to lovers of classical music as well as fans of contemporary pop music.
On 23 May 2024, David & Sabrina were guests at our hu:goes 14 Rooftop Bar. The two immediately delighted our audience with the classical sounds that give the city of Mozart its special charm. Between their own interpretations of current hits from the charts and the masterpieces of classical music, the pair impressed above all with their enthusiasm and charisma. They transformed our bar into their own little festival. High above the rooftops of Salzburg, our guests listened to the vibrating strings of the instruments while the view over the city invited them to dream.
Who would have thought that a duo of clarinet and cello would not only make the hearts of classical music lovers beat faster, but would also be able to play rock songs in such a way that even Mozart would shake his dancing leg in bliss? But the Duo Tropicanto not only brings musical vigour to the city of Salzburg, but also ensures that the lecturers at the Mozarteum Salzburg are always amazed – because who knows whether the next concert will end with Schubert or a song by Rihanna.
